SHAINA Nitura’s record-breaking spree has hit a new high.

The 20-year-old Adamson rookie-captain broke the UAAP women’s volleyball single-season scoring record with 314 total points after 12 elimination round matches.
Ateneo great Alyssa Valdez held the record for a decade after setting the scoring yardstick back in Season 77 in 2015.
Her total output in 14 matches? 312 points.

To break down her generational feats thus far in her rookie season, Nitura now has five 30-point games to her name — three in succession. That's the most by any player in league history and still with two matches left.
She also had the most points by a rookie in her UAAP seniors’ debut with 33 in a five-set victory vs. the Blue Eagles.
And the cherry on top? Nitura breaking the all-time single-game scoring record held by Valdez and former University of Santo Tomas captain Sisi Rondina.
Valdez and Rondina’s benchmark 36-piece was erased by the Lady Falcons superstar's massive 38-point outburst in a five-set loss to the University of the Philippines.
Nitura is projected to be the runaway winner of this season’s Rookie of the Year nod, to no one’s surprise.
Unfortunately, her one-of-a-kind rookie campaign will come to an end in the elimination round, as Adamson has been booted out of the Final Four race with a 5-7 record.
She'll have two more chances to set much higher benchmarks against La Salle and UP to close out her historic opening act in the seniors' ranks.
