A DIFFERENT kind of challenge awaits forthcoming captain Roma Doromal and the rest of the Ateneo Blue Eagles come UAAP Season 86 in over a week.
From the departures of ace hitters Faith Nisperos and Vanie Gandler to the arrival of Brazilian head coach Sergio Veloso, change is definitely expected at a rapid rate and pressure will subsequently be imminent.

But for Doromal, embracing the challenge is the only way to go from here on.
"'Yung pressure nandun, pero wala eh, wala kaming magagawa but i-embrace na lang 'yung pressure na 'yun and with coach (Sergio Veloso), hini-help niya naman kami skill-by-skill and then chine-change niya rin 'yung mentality namin sa game na kailangang i-enjoy namin kasi doon namin mas mailalabas 'yung laro namin," Doromal said.

"Since puro bata lahat, yung sisterhood namin, mas solid ngayon and mas nagkakaintindihan kami," she added.
Openness to change
Looking to pick up the pieces from a sixth-place finish in a dismal four-win campaign in Season 85, Ateneo's libero-captain acknowledges the tribulations embedded in a difficult season that was, but can only look ahead to the year that will be in the midst of much uncertainty.
"Always nga naming sinasabi na hindi siya smooth-sailing, especially new coach and new system, pero nandun naman kami. Open kami and very willing kami na mag-improve so lahat ng tinuturo niya talaga, ina-accept lahat namin 'yun," said Doromal
"Natutuwa naman kami kasi nakikita naman namin yung results na nakakapagkeep up kami. Kailangan lang namin maging consistent pa."
