FROM hunters, to the hunted, and now the avengers.
National University's tournament-sweeping title run in UAAP Season 84 led by then-rookie MVP Bella Belen sent shockwaves across the local college volleyball scene. But come Season 85, another rookie MVP in Angel Canino emerged as a vengeful La Salle side brought the championship back to Taft.
Entering her sophomore season with NU, Vange Alinsug underscored how the Lady Bulldogs are determined to complete their redemption tour.

"Championship talaga [ang goal]. Lahat kami simula pa lang nu'ng pagkatapos nu'ng Season 85, 'yun na agad 'yung goal namin na 'di kami titigil hangga’t 'di namin makuha 'yung [championship] sa Season 86," said Alinsug.
"'Yung preparation naman namin after last season, nag-regroup kami siyempre. Binago namin lahat ng lapses at kulang namin as a team. We’re making sure this season na 'di magbabago yung goal namin," she added.
Different kind of pressure
The stinging pain of losing the championship after a season of unrivaled dominance has done nothing but fuel the fire of Alinsug & Co., now that they have a 'clearer understanding of what they want' as a team.
"['Yung] pressure this season, hindi same as last season pero meron pa rin ngayon. 'Yung ngayon kasi, alam namin kung ano yung gusto namin. Alam namin kung ano yung kukunin namin — 'yung redemption nga kasi gusto naming makabawi po talaga."
Alinsug added: "'Yung maaasahan po sa akin ay siyempre every game, magco-contribute ako ng 100% best ko kasi kailangan naming buo kami palagi inside the court. 'Di naman mawawala lagi yung communication namin."
