NATIONAL University got its campaign back on track with back-to-back wins, besting Adamson, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20, in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Lams Lamina orchestrated the Lady Bulldogs’ first win streak of the season with 17 excellent sets and two points.
NU back on track
“Nakakabawi-bawi na kahit papaano. Now that we won in three sets [for the] first time dito sa first round, hopefully magtuloy-tuloy pa yung magandang condition ng katawan ng mga players namin pati 'yung mindset.
“Although marami paring mga lapses sa game, we have to really work hard for [it] para pagdating sa mga next na kalaban namin,” said NU head coach Norman Miguel.

Last season's league runners-up were back in form against the 1-2 (win-loss) Lady Falcons, steadying the ship after absorbing a shock opening loss to University of Sto. Tomas and grappling with a winless Ateneo side in the season’s first five-setter.
Alyssa Solomon fired 17 points on 14 attacks, two blocks and one ace to lead NU while former rookie-MVP Bella Belen pitched in with 15 attacks in the one hour and 28-minute contest.
In her first game back at the Big Dome since her left knee injury in Game One of the Season 85 Finals against La Salle, Sheena Toring added three points after missing the five-set win to Ateneo due to academic responsibilities.
