WHATEVER happens in the UAAP Season 81 women's volleyball Finals, Mozzy Ravena will come out a winner.

The multi-faceted mother of Ateneo Lady Eagles libero Dani was once a UST Golden Tigress, suiting up for the black-and-gold back from 1988 to 1992 where she won two titles under legendary coach August Santamaria.

"Win-win naman ako talaga (kahit anong mangyari)," she said, before bursting out a hearty laugh.

"Pero syempre sa anak ko muna. Lumabas sa akin yun eh, importante siya sa life ko at napamahal na siya sa akin."

Make no mistake, though: there are still times where she finds herself torn between her loyalties, so much so that she opted for a floral dress last Saturday, rather than wear one in the shade of blue or gold.

"Alam mo yung di ko pinapansin pero sa ulo ko, naririnig ko yung 'Go Uste!'," said the Ravena matriarch, alluding to the beloved UST chant.

But for the former Mozzy Crisologo, she's been a mother of famed athletes for so long that she has already devised a fool-proof way when it comes to her support.

"Palagi kaming may rule: God, family, school. So syempre kay Dani ako. Support ako sa kanya ng all out," she said. "Mabait naman ang community ng UST and they know naman my daughter is playing (for Ateneo), so all out ako for Dani in the championship."

Ravena may not be as vocal as the other Queen Tigresses of past when it comes to cheering for UST, but she said that her alma mater will always have a soft spot on her heart.

"I'm also happy for UST," she said. "You know that UST is the second-winningest volleyball team in the UAAP at ang tagal ng drought. Ngayon, unexpected pa with how things happened for them. it's just been so long kaya lahat sama-sama to help out the team and help out coach Kungfu (Reyes). Medyo ang ganda rin ng storya."

But a mother will always be a mother, and her children, first and foremost, will always be her priority.

"It's Dani's first Finals appearance, so syempre nalulungkot din ako (na UST ang nanalo sa Game One.) But I'm sure ifi-fix din ni Oliver (Almadro) yan. Hopefully mag-adjust," she said.
