MILENA Alessandrini suffered a left knee injury in the second set of University of Sto. Tomas’ match against Far Eastern University in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Fil-Italian made an awkward landing from a spike attempt, and was stretchered off, unable to return to the match.
Alessandrini stayed at the locker room before being sent to the UST hospital before the fourth set.
She missed most of the first round of the eliminations last year due to a shoulder injury but went on to claim the rookie of the year title.
Alessandrini averaged 15.6 points in their three matches for UST this season.
