FOR the entire tournament, La Salle head coach Ramil de Jesus has been vocal about getting consistency from his playmakers.
And as the Lady Spikers closed out the first round with a sweep over the FEU Lady Tamaraws, it seems like RDJ’s pleas have been answered by rookie playmaker Mikole Reyes

Reyes finished with 20 excellent sets in the win, including a 1-2 play late to seal the Lady Spikers’ fourth straight win as they ended the first round with a 5-2 record.
For the rookie, she’s glad that they’re slowly picking up their stride after a relatively slow start to the tournament.
“Lahat ng problema na-sosolusyunan kaya happy ako na ngayon na-sosolusyunan na,” she said.
With Reyes setting the tone, three Lady Spikers breached double-digits with Shevana Laput’s 22 leading their balanced offense. Alleiah Malaluan chipped in 12 while Angel Canino chipped in 10 in the victory.
While it hasn’t always been rainbows and butterflies for her, she’s grateful to have veterans and patient coaches surrounding her – peope who never fail to remind her of the things she needs to work on in order to get better.
“Ako naman po nakafocus lang ako sa role ko and pinapaalalahanan po kasi ako ng coaches and ates ko na take accountability and do your best,” she continued.
While things have picked up for them as of late, she promises to stay on her toes, keep an open mind and work on the things that she needs to improve on moving forward.
“Marami pa rin namang adjustments, may mga lapses pa rin po ako.”
