UNIVERSITY of the East’s senior trio may be heading in the same direction, but Angge Reyes is already locked in with her next step.

With one playing year left, the Lady Warriors' libero made it clear she is staying put for one last run come UAAP Season 89.

“Ako may isa pa pong playing year, so I will use it po,” she said following their loss to Ateneo to end Season 88.

A product of UE since high school, the 5-foot-2 defensive anchor wants to make her final year count, not just for herself, but for a program that has stood by her through all the ups and downs.

It has been back-to-back winless campaigns for the red-and-white, but Reyes is determined to change that narrative - or at least leave something meaningful behind.

“Gusto ko siyang ipaglaban,” she said. “Since high school kasi, same result always. Gusto kong umalis kami ng UE na nakagawa kami ng history for UE sa volleyball.”

What about Cepada and Bangayan?

As for her fellow seniors Khy Cepada and Van Bangayan, their next moves remain uncertain with the 2026 PVL Rookie Draft application deadline fast approaching.

If given the choice, both are leaning toward staying another year to prioritize their studies.

“Sa’kin po, more on to stay talaga. Gusto ko po muna talaga matapos ‘yung academics ko. ‘Yun talaga ‘yung pinakamatimbang para sa’kin,” Cepada said.

Bangayan shared the same stance, with academics taking precedence over a potential pro career.

“Gusto kong matapos muna ‘yung masteral ko, and wala rin po talaga akong balak mag-pro,” she said.

For now, at least one piece of the Lady Warriors' core is all set to return, with Reyes hoping her last year finally brings about a different ending.
