ATENEO spikers Zel Tsunashima and J.Lo delos Santos have both been ruled out for the remainder of the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.
Tsunashima, 22, was hurt in fifth set of the Blue Eagles’ five-set loss to Adamson on opening weekend where she had to be stretchered off the court.

Three days since the incident, it was confirmed that she broke her left tibia and fibula, forcing her to miss the rest of the tournament, as her rehabilitation goes underway.

The third-year winger was off to a stellar start to her season prior to her injury with 10 markers to her name.
Down goes another Ateneo spiker
Meanwhile, delos Santos suffered a season-ending injury before the season even began.
The sophomore Blue Eagle tore her left ACL in the team’s final tuneup match before its season-opener after an awkward fall.
As it goes with ACL injuries, which takes roughly six to 12 months to fully recover, delos Santos will take the year off to recover.
Back-to-back injuries over at the Katipunan camp leaves the Blue Eagles with just 12 players to work with for the remainder of Season 87.
Now 0-1, Ateneo looks to make amends in a tall second order to their opening-round campaign against defending champion National University.
