SINCE 2017, La Salle has been lording over its archrival in UAAP women's volleyball.

Not much has changed in Season 88, as the Lady Spikers sealed the deal on yet another tournament sweep of Ateneo courtesy of a convincing straight-sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-18 victory on Saturday inside Filoil EcoOil Centre.

The league-leading green-and-white played beautiful music from the get-go, with rookie playmaker Eshana Nunag conducting an offense that counted four different contributors in a 12-3 tear that turned a four-point edge into a dominant 25-13 Set 1 win.

It was more of the same in the second frame, where La Salle raced to a 7-0 start to ultimately more than double up on their opponents.

The Blue Eagles put up more of a fight in the third set, but the Lady Spikers still had all the answers, as they needed just 72 minutes to register their 18th consecutive victory in this rivalry game.

At the same time, La Salle stayed spotless in the season and is now just two triumphs away from sweeping the elimination round - and scoring an automatic advance into the finals.

La Salle a well-oiled machine

Angel Canino topped the scoring column for the Taft towers with 15 points on 43-percent efficiency, as Amie Provido was not that far behind with 12 markers, including three kill blocks. Shevana Laput and Lilay Del Castillo added nine points apiece as well to make sure no frame even lasted half an hour.

Nunag continued her impressive rookie year with 22 excellent sets, as the Lady Spikers also avoided errors, with just a total of seven compared to their opponents' 20.

Neophyte Ana Hermosura was the lone player in double-digits for Ateneo with 10 and, in all, they were stifled by their archrivals' net dominance to just nine-percent attack efficiency.

Alongside continuing to be at the wrong end of La Salle's mastery of their rivalry, the Blue Eagles dropped to 1-11 in another playoff-less campaign.
