IN just her second season, Dani Ravena is a UAAP champion.
Ravena won her first championship on Saturday as Ateneo reigned supreme in the UAAP Season 81 women's volleyball finals against University of Santo Tomas.
The sophomore libero was integral in the Lady Eagles' defense, finishing with 13 digs and seven excellent receptions in their 25-17, 25-22, 25-22 Game Three win.
And her brothers feel proud seeing Dani reach the top of the mountain just like how they did in seasons past.
"Ang sarap ng pakiramdam. I'm proud of the whole team and I'm especially proud of Dani," said Thirdy.
Kiefer added: "It's gonna be a feat for the family. Credit to our parents."
Being in this situation before, the Ravena brothers made sure to give Dani some crucial pointers heading into the crucial Game Three.
"Kanina, tinext ko siya bilang kuya and I've played in the UAAP Finals," recounted Kiefer.
"Sabi ko lang sa kanya, pikit niya lang yung mata niya pagdating sa venue, visualize niya yung maraming tao, the UST crowd and the Ateneo crowd para pagdating ng game time, naisip na niya kung ano yung mangyayari. Kumbaga yung visualization process niya, nandoon na at kung ano man ang dumating, ready na siya, that 50-percent of the job is already finished dahil napaghandaan niya na. You only have to execute."
Thirdy, meanwhile, was curt on her advice.
"Enjoy," he said. "Yun yung pinakasinabi ko sa kanya. Coming from Game One na stressed sila, I just felt they needed to enjoy the situation they're in. Just enjoy that moment kasi they deserve it."
True enough, Ateneo did.
With Dani winning her first title in only her second year, both Kiefer and Thirdy agree on their wish that their younger sister not only equalize their two titles or even exceed their championship count.
"As long as she stays healthy, she'll be there," said Kiefer. "They have a good system and a good coach. They play hard and they have a lot of heart. You'll get amazed at how much sacrifice they make. It's just fitting for them for them to get this championship."
Thirdy ended: "Sana mas marami pa mapanalo niya sa amin ng brother ko."
