IT took Judith Abil extraordinary 20-20-20 game for University of the East to win its first game in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament.
Abil finished with 22 points, all on attacks, to go with 21 excellent receptions and 20 digs as the Lady Warriors ended a two-game skid with a 20-25, 28-26, 25-23, 25-22 victory over Adamson on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan City.
After averaging 17.3 points in their first three games, Abil outdid herself to deliver a win for the Lady Warriors. But she was the first to insist that is wasn't a one-woman job.
Sobrang nakakataba ng puso,” Abil said.
“Gusto talaga naming bumawi galing sa talo namin last game.
With a game against favorite Ateneo on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, Abil said the Lady Warriors are hungry for more.
