FAR Eastern University scored a 25-21, 25-19, 25-22 victory over National University on Wednesday to boost its semifinal bid in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.
Jerrili Malabanan, Heather Guino-o and Kyle Negrito showed the way as the Lady Tamaraws scored their first three-set win in 12 matches.
FEU improved its win-loss record to 8-4, while also-ran NU dropped to 3-9 in sixth place.
Guino-o scored 11 points, all on attacks, while Malabanan nailed 10 attacks as FEU hit a total of 35 spikes.
Negrito had 21 excellent sets on top of seven digs and five markers.
Sila ang gusto kong mag-lead,” said coach George Pascua of FEU’s three graduating players.
FEU faces UST on Sunday at the MOA Arena.
Audrey Paran was the lone NU player to score in double figures with 11 points, while Ivy Lacsina was limited to just nine.
NU faces UP also on Sunday.
