FAR Eastern University kept defending champion La Salle from clinching the second seed in the UAAP women’s volleyball semifinals with a 25-22, 13-25, 15-25, 27-25, 15-8 victory on Sunday at the Arena in San Juan.
Playing with intensity and focus in a match they did not need to win, the Lady Tamaraws stalled the Lady Spikers’ match to the semifinals.
La Salle suffered its fourth loss in 14 matches, falling to a share of second spot with University of Sto. Tomas.
The No. 2 seed and twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals will be decided in a playoff on Wednesday between the Lady Spikers and Tigresses.
FEU finished the eliminations with a 9-5 win-loss record and will take on the twice-to-beat No. 1 team Ateneo in the Final Four on Saturday.
