FAR Eastern University solidified its claim for the last Final Four spot in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Tuesday by beating Adamson, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Faida Bakanke took charge with 13 points on 11 attacks and two blocks as the Lady Tamaraws sustained a run of good form that have seen them win four of their last five matches to remain in fourth place.

"Sa kinalalagyan namin ngayon, siyempre mas gigil pa kami na mas makamit 'yung goal namin na pumasok sa Final Four and also, 'yung mga goal din namin na mabawian 'yung mga natalo kami nung first round," said FEU head coach Manolo Refugia.

"Mas naging inspiration samin na bumawi talaga kasi nga, may goal kami: Final Four, so hindi dapat namin bitawan yung goal namin na yun and talagang di lang doble, tripleng trabaho talaga," Chenie Tagaod added, who pitched in 12 markers on nine attacks, two aces and one block.
Bar a straight-sets loss to La Salle, Bakanke & Co. managed to keep the Lady Falcons at bay in three closely-contested frames with 46 total attacks, 11 blocks and two aces powered by Tin Ubaldo's 13 excellent sets in the one-hour, 32-minute contest.
Although still in contention, Adamson’s dwindling semis bid was further dampened by its six straight defeat paced by Red Bascon (13 points) and rookie ace Barbie Jamili (11 points).
The result also knocked cellar-dwelling University of the Philippines out of Final Four contention with a 1-9 (win-loss) slate.
