SET to move to Ateneo after a successful high school stint at National University, girls volleyball star Faith Nisperos met with the Lady Eagles on Sunday in the UAAP women's volleybal tournament.
The 5-foot-11 open spiker, who is waiting for the result of her college entrance test, is eager to suit up for Ateneo again after transferring from Ateneo de Davao to play for the Lady Bullpups in Season 77.
She won two season MVP awards and two Finals MVP titles with NU.
It is unclear when she signed a letter of intent, but on Sunday the 19-year-old Nisperos was on the Ateneo side for the game against University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan, talked to her idol Alyssa Valdez and met the members of the Lady Eagles.
“It’s really my dream school, so that’s one big factor na kaya ko napili,” Nisperos told the reporters. “Siyempre, it’s not that NU can’t provide what I want. But I just see that Ateneo can provide more of it. That’s why I chose this school.”
“I’d be more challenged with the study environment. And then siyempre, Ateneo is a school that we look up to,” she said. “A goal for myself is I want to reach that standard that they’re having.“
Nisperos, a four-time UAAP Girls’ champion with NU, said there is
“Well, expected that people have their own expectations. But I’m not really into pressuring myself, into parang meeting their expectations,” Nisperos said. “I just set my goal and expectation for myself, para hindi ako ma-pressure. I’ll be taking it one step at a time, ganun.”
