SHERWIN Meneses bade farewell to National University on Friday, marking the end of a victorious year-long tenure as Lady Bulldogs head coach.
The seven-time PVL champion coach penned his parting note to National U, just as his one-year contract expired.
Meneses described his brief yet decorated run as ‘one of the greatest honors of my career.’
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to National University, the management, and the entire NU family for the trust and opportunity you have given me to serve as Head Coach,” he wrote.
“It has truly been one of the greatest honors of my career to work with such passionate and hardworking athletes, and to be part of a community that lives by discipline, heart, and excellence.
“I will forever carry with me the pride of being part of this family, and I will continue to support the team in any way I can.”
From Sherwin to Regine
Now entering a new era without aces Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon, the Creamline mentor offered words of encouragement to the three-peat-seeking Lady Bulldogs that will now have Regine Diego calling the shots.

“To the players, remember this — always give your best, chase success with everything you have, and keep moving forward. There is no turning back — only chances to grow, to learn, and to become better every single day,” Meneses said.
“Believe in yourselves, trust the process, and play with your whole heart.”
He also gave his regards to his successor, as they begin preseason preparations for their title defense.
“I also want to extend my best wishes to Coach Regine as she takes on this new journey with the team. I am excited to see you all soar even higher under her guidance,” the former NU shot-caller said.
“Again, to NU Management, thank you once again for the trust, the opportunity, and the countless memories that I will cherish forever.”
Under Meneses’ guidance, the Lady Bulldogs won the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball champioship along with two preseason titles in the Shakey’s Super League.
His focus now shifts back solely to the Cool Smashers in their pursuit of ending a rare three-tournament title drought come the Reinforced Conference in October.
