ADAMSON ran out of gas at the worst possible time.
After dragging league-leading La Salle into a grueling five-set duel, the Lady Falcons managed just five points in the deciding frame as their upset bid ultimately slipped away.
Still, the performance left Frances Mordi convinced that Adamson is capable of keeping up with the league’s best.
Just four days after pulling off a straight-set stunner against University of Santo Tomas, the Lady Falcons once again showed their fight as they put La Salle through the wringer before eventually falling short.

“I feel like we are capable. I feel like after the game with La Salle, we can do this in the next round and we can actually win,” Mordi told SPIN.ph.
The Nigerian outside hitter led Adamson with 22 points built on 19 attacks and three blocks, while also tallying nine excellent receptions.
Adamson set the tone early, taking the opening frame, 25-19, before La Salle bounced back to claim the next two sets.
The Lady Falcons refused to go away, responding with a dominant fourth-set performance as they won by 12 points to force a decider.
But the San Marcelino squad struggled to generate offense in the fifth set, allowing the Lady Spikers to pull away.
“During the fifth set, I think there was no side-out. We needed a quick side-out at that moment, but it wasn’t coming,” the sophomore explained.
Now holding a 3-3 record, Mordi believes the Lady Falcons simply need to stay together as they aim to close the first round strong against the University of the Philippines.
“We just have to keep playing together and encourage each other.”
