ATENEO looks to book its 10th straight semifinal appearance in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament as the Lady Eagles face the National University Lady Bulldogs on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ateneo, which has won nine straight wins after an opening weekend loss, tries to become the first team to enter the Final Four this season as it battles NU at 4 o’clock.
La Salle seeks to tighten its grip on the No. 2 spot when the Lady Spikers battle Adamson University (1-9) at 2 p.m.
The Lady Spikers hold a 7-3 win-loss record a win will close the gap on the Lady Eagles. A loss, however, will allow Far Eastern University and University of Sto. Tomas to gain a share of second.
Coach Ramil De Jesus warned the Lady Spikers not to take the Lady Falcons lightly and will again lean on Des Cheng, Aduke Ogunsanya and Tin Tiamzon.
“Well sa akin yun nga ang nakakatakot kasi nothing to lose ang mga ganoon eh,” De Jesus said. “Iba yung naglalaro ka ng walang pressure. So mas magaan yung galaw sa loob, mas nakakapag-isip ka, mas nakaka-motivate sa mga kasama kasi walang dinadala sa loob na pressure.”
