ALYSSA Valdez is happy to see her alma mater University of Santo Tomas and Ateneo clash in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament final.
“Ako nagpapasalamat ako na both schools na pinanggalingan ko umabot dito sa napakahirap na stage ng game ng UAAP na championship,” said Valdez, who graced Finals Game 2 on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Valdez won three MVPs and led the UST girls’ team to three titles before moving to Ateneo and leading the Lady Eagles to titles in 2014 and 2015, while also earning three MVP awards.
“I’m really happy yung passion and dedication ng ust andiyan talaga yan yung tinuro nnya sa akin,” said the Creamline Cool Smasher. “Sa Ateneo naman yung pagiging heart strong and siyempre hardworking na students andyan rin.”
“At the end of the day kung sino gustong manalo syempre icecelebrate natin, we want the best game lang from both teams,” the national team mainstay said. “Who wants it more will really siguro bring home the crown.”
But regardless of the result, the Lady Eagles and Tigresses are already co-champions in Alyssa’s heart.
“I’m just really lucky na pinanggalingan ko ngayon para sakin champion na sila parehas sa puso ko,” Valdez said. “It’s their time to show everyone what they’re capable of.”
