CELLAR-dwelling Adamson sent University of the Philippines to a frustrating finish with a 25-20, 25-23, 25-19 victory on Saturday in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.

Chiara Permentilla led the charge as the Lady Falcons ended the season with a bang, arresting a nine-match skid for a 2-12 win-loss record.

The Lady Maroons end their stint with four straight losses and a 6-8 record.

Ayel Estranero and Marian Buitre played their last UAAP match.

Permentilla unloaded a season-high 16 points built on 12 attacks, three service aces and a block. She dedicated it to graduating players Joy Dacoron and Eli Soyud, who had 11 and 10 points, respectively, in their Final UAAP game.

“Gaya nga ng sinasabi lagi ni coach hindi na namin kailangan isipin pa yung record namin kundi kung paano kami maglaro,” Permentilla said. “How we play is how will people remember us. Last game na nga namin dinedededicate namin sa graduating players namin kay Eli and Ate Joy.”

Despite their record, Adamson head coach Onyok Getigan was proud that his wards proved that they belong in the league.

“Sobrang saya dahil sa wakas nasunod na yung sistema. Yung malalim na pagsunod sa coach andoon talaga,” Getigan said. “Lahat nagstep up ultimo yung pinasok ko na mga rookies nagbigay din ng puntos so maganda ang kinalabasan.”

The Lady Maroons ended the season with four-game skid with a 6-8 record as Ayel Estranero and Marian Buitre played their last UAAP game.

Tots Carlos and Isa Molde led UP with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Estranero put up 20 excellent sets and 16 digs, while Buitre had four markers in their last game as Lady Maroons.
