THE ‘happy’ and ‘heart strong’ era has begun for Adamson.

The team already showed a different style of play after whipping San Sebastian, 25-18, 25-19, 25-14, to keep their perfect record going and a share of Pool A lead in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Collegiate Conference.

The rookie-laden squad was heard shouting ‘happy, happy’ and ‘heartstrong’ during the game, and has been meditating every timeouts at the Arena in San Juan City Sunday.

The familiar lines and style that help Ateneo dominate the UAAP from 2014 to 2018 of course, was a trademark of no less than Thai coach Tai Bundit, who steered the Lady Eagles to two women’s volleyball championships.

Bundit, who’s now training the Lady Falcons, watched the game at the VIP area of the venue.

The Thai coach, the one who’s also calling the shots for Creamline Cool Smashers in the Open Conference, began to train Adamson last Saturday.

Training remains hard under the Thai drill master, but it was fun as far as rookie setter Louie Romero is concerned.

“Okay lang po kasi noong nakaraang linggo palang po, prinepare na kami ng mga coaches,” said Romero, one of several newcomers for the team. “Pero masaya po.”

After just one day of training under Bundit, Adamson head coach Lerma Giron agreed that all her players had fun with the Thai’s training style.

Flashes of Bundit’s system was obvious in Adamson’s performance, but Giron insists the whole team is far from reaching the Thai coach’s expectations.

“Walang pagbabagong biglaan. Walang overnight lang. Sa ngayon, nandoon kami sa phase na transition na ina-adapt namin, adaptation period,” said Giron, who’s been filling in the void left by coach Onyok Getigan due to personal matters. “Pero as much as possible, we're trying to adapt at sumabay sa tinuturo, sa sistema, sa principle.”

Giron added that school sponsor, Akari, will release a statement on Monday regarding Bundit’s role to the team.
