CONSISTENCY has been the premium in a tightly packed UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball field.
Adamson may not have mastered it just yet, but the Lady Falcons still head into the second round with a respectable 4-3 record.

Those four wins came in between losses to National U, Far Eastern University, and La Salle.
Through seven elimination games, the Lady Falcons' flight has followed a simple pattern. Every win was followed by a loss, and every loss by a win.

Sophomore skipper Shaina Nitura said their four victories at the halfway mark fell just short of the their offseason target.
“Ito ‘yung parang plano namin, to be with a 4-3 finish. Gino-goal sana namin was 5-2, pero ‘yun nga, bumagsak kami sa 4-2 and ‘yun ‘yung kinaya ng team,” she said.
Still, the white-and-blue is not complaining about its position midway through the eliminations.
Their fourth win, a convincing victory against the University of the Philippines, could prove pivotal, as Adamson pushes for a Final Four return.
“This is a good start for us coming into the second round. It’s not easy, but it can be easier for us to get into Final Four coming from this win,” she added.
‘God’s will’
While consistency remains a work in progress, the Lady Falcons have begun to show they are no longer a one-woman show built solely around Nitura.
In the win over the Fighting Maroons, Frances Mordi led the scoring with 18 points, while Nitura finished with 14, a contrast from last season when the latter often carried the bulk of the offense.

Still, Adamson knows alternating wins and losses will not be enough once the competition tightens even more come the second round.
The good news is coach JP Yude believes it is only a matter of time before they do string wins together.
“Win-loss, win-loss kami, pero I know naman sa mga talo na yun, we tried our best and we did our best talaga. Sometimes, kinukulang kami. Kaya ‘yun pa ‘yung kailangan naming itrabaho every time,” he said.
Anchored on faith as much as hard work, Nitura said she and her teammates will all do their part and leave the rest to God.
“That’s what we think as a team: na it’s God’s will talaga. We just keep doing our part, just doing our hard work, ‘yung work na kailangan namin,” she said.
“Kung anuman ‘yung maging resulta ng mga ginagawa namin, it’s God’s will na talaga kung ano yung ibibigay Niya sa amin and we just have to accept and respond to it.”
