LOOKS like Adamson just has University of Santo Tomas' number in UAAP Season 88.

The Lady Falcons yet again put on total team effort that overwhelmed the Golden Tigresses in a statement sweep, 27-25, 25-20, 26-24, Saturday at Filoil EcoOil Centre.

This is Adamson's second straight-sets stunner in as many matches against UST, which now entangles the two teams at the third spot, both with 7-5 records in the tightening women's volleyball playoff pursuit.

Rising playmaker Fhei Sagaysay deserves much credit, as well, as she set up the white-and-blue's return to the win column to the tune of 21 excellent sets on top of three attacks, two blocks, and two aces.

Young Adamson shows clutch credentials

Both sides were neck-and-neck for majority of the sets before Adamson just outworked and outplayed the Golden Tigresses in the clutch.

In the first frame, Sagaysay settled her side, as they turned a 15-18 hole into a two-point set win, thanks to a 12-7 rally.

Set 2 saw the same thing happen, with the Lady Falcons staring at a 17-18 deficit until surging to an 8-2 rush to go up two frames to none.

And yet, Adamson's most gallant stand came in the third set where it had to battle from as much as six points down to ultimately come out on top in another extension.

With the end of eliminations at hand, the Lady Falcons have complete control over their destiny, especially as their remaining assignments are against fellow playoff hopefuls the University of the Philippines then Far Eastern University.

It's much of the same story for UST, which has the Fighting Maroons and defending champion National U left in its ledger.

The Golden Tigresses, however, will need many others to provide better backup for Angge Poyos the next time around, as she was their lone player in double-digits with 15 points, all but one from attacks.
