SHAINA Nitura ran the show as expected, as Adamson imposed its will from start to finish.
The Lady Falcons cruised to a dominant 25-19, 25-18, 25-10 sweep of Ateneo in UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball action on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Any hopes of a Blue Eagles fightback quickly vanished in the third set, where Adamson unleashed a staggering 16-1 opening run that effectively sealed the outcome and underscored the gulf between still-rebuilding Ateneo and the on-the-rise Nitura-powered squad.
Nitura paced Adamson with 16 points, drawing steady support from her longtime running mate Frances Mordi, who chipped in 14 points and three digs.
“Gumaan na po for us ngayon lalo as a team kasi mas nagiging collective effort na siya,” Nitura said. “Kung sakali mang ma-off ako, alam kong meron nang sasalo sa’kin.”
Adamson starts and doesn't stop
Both teams needed time to settle into rhythm early in the match before the Lady Falcons pulled away late in the opening frame to seize control.
From there, they never looked back.
The narrative completely shifted in the second set, as Adamson’s balanced attack was on full display.
Rookie winger Abe Segui impressed in her debut with eight points and five digs, helping the Lady Falcons build a commanding 23-12 cushion on the way to a two-set edge.
It only got more lopsided in the third frame, where Ateneo managed just a single point before San Marcelino's pride reached the second technical timeout, highlighting Adamson’s total dominance down the stretch.
The Blue Eagles struggled to generate consistent offense, with Alex Montoro’s five-point output serving as the lone bright spot for them.
The Katipunan side was also plagued by 16 unforced errors, as libero Fiona Arroyo provided its only double-digit statistical output with 13 receptions.
