UNIVERSITY of the Philippines whipped winless University of the East, 25-14, 25-19, 25-16, on Wednesday for its second win in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
Last year’s best blocker Kathy Bersola scored 12 points, four on blocks, while Angeli Araneta and team captain Nicole Tiamzon added 11 and 10 markers, respectively.
The Lady Maroons needed only one hour and 14 minutes to take the win for a 2-3 win-loss card, bouncing back after bowing to La Salle, 16-25, 20-25, 21-25, on Saturday.
Shaya Adorador had 10 points for UE, winless in five outings.
