LA Salle moved past idle Ateneo in the standings, downing Far Eastern University, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23, 25-22, on Wednesday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Ara Galang came up with 22 points as the Lady Spikers scored their fifth win in as many outings.

Mika Reyes scored 17 and Cyd Demecillo chipped in with 12 to help La Salle move up a notch over Ateneo (4-0), which is seeing action in the Asean University Games in Indonesia.

The Lady Spikers have dropped only two of 17 sets played.

Sophomore Bernadeth Pons fired 22 points and rookie Toni Basas added 12 for the Lady Tamaraws, who suffered their third loss in five matches.
