LA Salle coach Ramil de Jesus opened up for a change after a frustrating loss to Ateneo, 25-12, 20-25, 21-25, 19-25, in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament.
The Lady Spikers dropped to the No. 2 spot, while the Lady Eagles took the top seed for the Final Four.
Unlike their first loss to Ateneo, de Jesus granted an interview after the game and he revealed that the loss did most damage to the team’s morale.
“Siguro, sa confidence, siguro, ‘yun lang ‘yung pinaka-mabigat,” said the veteran mentor.
But de Jesus was quick to shift his focus to their next foe, as La Salle will face No. 3 seed University of Santo Tomas in the Final Four on April 22.

“Pero ang importante naman kasing game is 'yung semis,” he said. “Doon (Final Four) naman nagsa-start talaga ang totoong laban, hindi naman dito (end of eliminations).”
“Kumbaga, ito, placing lang. So ‘yung sa (April) 22, ‘yung start ng talagang totoong bakbakan,” he added.
The Lady Spikers are armed with a twice-to-beat advantage but de Jesus warned his wards against complacency against a Tigresses squad full of confidence.
UST secured the No.3 spot after it defeated National University in a stunning comeback, 20-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-12.
“Siguro sabi ko nga, doon magsa-start ang totoong labanan, so kailangan doon ka na ‘wag magpapatalo. So lahat gagawin namin para sa game na ‘yun,” he said.
