THE UAAP issued a compromise with regard to the regulation of the drums in the coming Season 81 that is set to open this Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Originally, the league reduced the use of drums to two bass drums and a single snare which was drew criticisms from fans and the band community alike.
Now, band members will be allowed to bring four bass drums and two snare drums for ballgames which will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena and the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
For smaller venues like the Filoil Flying V Arena and the Blue Eagle Gym, they’ll be sticking to their original one bass – one snare rule.
Just last Monday, the league was adamant on sticking to their original rule, but apparently, a dialogue between UAAP Executive Director Rebo Saguisag and various pep squads after the press conference did the trick.
