PAOLO Pablico and Leo Miranda led the way as Adamson University defeated University of the East, 25-19, 25-19, 25-23, on Wednesday to gain a share of the lead in the UAAP Season 81 volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.
Pablico scored 15 points off 13 kills and a pair of aces, while Miranda scattered seven spikes, two blocks and two aces for 11 hits to go with 15 excellent receptions.
Adamson improved its win-loss record to 3-0, tied with idle FEU at the top. The Falcons next face defending champion National University (2-1) on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Lloyd Josafat scored 13 points for the Red Warriors, who suffered their econd loss in three matches, tied with Ateneo, which it battles on Sunday.
Bryan Bagunas, meanwhile, scored 27 points to power NU past La Salle, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18.
Bagunas had 23 kills, three aces and a block as the Bulldogs scored their second straight win after starting the tournament with a loss.
Madzlan Gampong scored 15 points, Francis Saura had 11 hits, while James Natividad added eight markers to go with 22 excellent receptions and 14 digs.
The Green Spikers are winless in three matches, tied with the UP Maroons.
Geraint Bacon had 15 points, Cris Dumago chipped in 12 hits and made 26 excellent receptions and 10 digs, while Kieffer Reyes and David Inocentes added 11 markers each for La Salle.
