APPARENTLY, it's not just National University's women's volleyball team which conducted trainings during the quarantine period.
In a vlog posted by reserve setter Benok Ancheta last month, members of the men's volleyball team also had workouts in the parking area of Jhocson Residences, which serves as the dormitory for the school's student-athletes.
Aside from them, select members of the boys and girls volleyball team, and the women's basketball team were seen working out in the area.
Among those caught in the video were Ajhay Asaad Abdul of the men's volleyball team, Jennifer Nierva of women's volleyball, Rhena Itesi of women's basketball, Genard Guerrero of boys volleyball, and Shaira Jardio and Camilla Lamina of girls volleyball.
NU athletic director Otie Camangian has previously told the Joint Administrative Order on the resumption of sports and physical activities that these athletes were stuck in the dorm since the lockdown was imposed and were unable to head back to their respective hometowns.
The school is set to submit a list of these athletes to the Department of Justice (DOJ), while the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has already handed NU a show-cause order to explain its side.
For his part, NU women's basketball team head coach Patrick Aquino said that there's only one player to his knowledge who is stuck in the dorm.
"As far as I know, one player lang ang na-stuck sa dorm and all the others went home to their respective provinces," he said.
Spin.ph sought comments from Camangian and men's volleyball head coach Dante Alinsunurin, but they have yet to respond to our queries.
