    NU Bulldogs ease past Adamson Falcons and into UAAP volley finals

    DEFENDING champion National University marched to its seventh straight finals appearance as it knocked out Adamson, 25-19, 25-16, 25-20, on Sunday in the UAAP Season 81 volleyball Final For on Sunday at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.

    The twice-to-beat Bulldogs wasted no time eliminating the Falcons, arranging a best-of-three title series with Far Eastern University, which defeated Ateneon on Saturday.

    The finals will be played next week.

    Graduating middle blocker Kim Malabunga led the charge for the Bulldogs providing eight of the team’s 16 kill blocks in the game and nailed eight attacks and an ace for a 17 points.

    Bryan Bagunas had nine hits, while Nico Almendras and Francis Saura added seven markers apiece as NU tallied its 14th straight win.

    “Ito talaga yung goal namin noong simula pa lang ng game and sana magtulu’y tuloy hanggang finals,” said NU head coach Dante Alinsunurin, who is eyeing his fourth title with NU.

    Leo Miranda was the lone Falcon to score in double figures with 11 points as graduating Paolo Pablico was limited to just six markers.
