FAR Eastern University head coach Sean Chambers took pride in taking a few pages off his Adamson counterpart Nash Racela’s playbook.
Moments after eking out a 73-70 overtime win over the Soaring Falcons on Sunday, Chambers revealed how his way of running the Tamaraws offense mimicked that of ‘one of the most disciplined teams’ in the UAAP.

“Really kudos to Adamson. I have to say part of the reason we're running our offense and we're running our flow to our offense is from what I watch from Adamson and what they do,” the 60-year-old Morayta shot-caller said.
“They're [Adamson] one of the most disciplined teams with their offensive structure in our league.”
Underdogs incoming
Both teams are in the midst of mustering second-round turnarounds after posting more losses than wins in their first seven games — one that had FEU start at 2-5 (win-loss) and Adamson at 3-4.
But that doesn’t change anything for Chambers who believes that Adamson, now in fourth place at 5-5, should also be in the Final Four conversation along with the usual protagonists like a UP or a La Salle.
“I really take a lot from Coach Nash and what he's done with Adamson and those guys are really good. I don't think they get the same credit as the other kids in our league,” Chambers said.
And albeit a game behind the Soaring Falcons at 4-6, the Tamaraws mentor would like to believe that his own young guns should have their names thrown in that playoff mix too.
“It's still been an amazing season and I'm happy that we've been able to put ourselves in the conversation, that we're still in the conversation at this time of the season even if we're still young,” Chambers said.
“We still don't have seniors out here leading this team like other teams do. I'm just happy that we're in the situation we're in.
“We should be better but that's part of their youth and you have to get them to go through these steps to get to a certain maturity level eventually.”
