UNIVERSITY of the Philippines top hitter Tots Carlos is glad to see the Lady Maroons come up with a solid team effort, surviving a tough five-set battle with Adamson University to get back on track in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
It was a big bounce back win for the Lady Maroons after a straight-sets loss to the National University Lady Bulldogs at the end of the first round.
“Nakita naman natin past games namin hindi kami halos lumaban so ngayon laban lang talaga,” said Carlos.
Carlos scored 22 points, including two crucial attacks towards the end as UP scored its third win in eight matches.
Isa Molde added 18, while Marian Buitre had 12 points as UP gained a share of fifth spot with Adamson.
“Hindi naman ako lang eh kasi hindi naman ako makakapalo kung walang pasa so, yeah main attacker ako, pero hindi ko ’yun magagawa kung wala ang teammates ko,” she said.
“So hindi ako ’yung nag-take charge, kami ang may gusto noon, kami ang lumaban,” she added.
