UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas will try to seal its spot in the quarterfinals, while University of Perpetual Help tries to stay in contention when they clash in the 10th Shakey's V-League Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Tigresses, who hold a 2-0 card in the quarterfinals, need one more win to move up to the next round and complete the Final Four cast together with Adamson.
The NCAA back-to-back champion Lady Altas, on the other hand, have a 1-1 win-loss card and need to defeat UST to force a playoff either against the Tigresses or of Lady Falcons (2-1).
"Kailangan namin ng isa pang panalo kasi tabla kami ng Adamson sa ranking. We need an advantage over them pag nagkatablahan," said UST coach Odjie Mamon.
Gametime is at 4p.m.
If the España-based squad loses to Perpetual Help there will be a triple tie at 2-1. The team with the highest quotient advances to the semifinal round, while the two others battle in a playoff.
"Maghahanda kami sa floor defense, opensa, service," said Perpetual Help skipper Honey Tubino.
"Lahat, kasi kulang pa. Blockings namin kay (Maika) Ortiz babantayan din namin para matibay laban sa UST."
