BIÑAN CITY -- Defending champion Bangkok Glass of Thailand swept T. Grand of Chinese Taipei, 25-10, 25-10, 25-11, in the classification match for the quarterfinals placing of the 2016 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship on Tuesday at Alonte Sports Arena here.
Wilavan Apinyapong finished with 11 points, anchored on nine kills, for Bangkok Glass, which hold a perfect 3-0 win-loss carryover record in Group F.
Team captain and last year's MVP Pleumjit Thinkaow and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hao also added seven points apiece for Thailand.
Bangkok Glass dominated the match with 44 kills while T. Grand only had 17 and the Thai team committed only six errors compared to 20 of Chinese Taipei.
Thailand will face Ba'yi Shenzheng of China on Wednesday to determine the final placing for the quarterfinals.
Chiu Yah-hui made seven points for T. Grand. Chinese Taipei, which carries a 0-2 win-loss record, will tangle with Sarmayeh Bank of Iran on Wednesday.
