CANDON CITY — The gold-medal dream ends for Alas Pilipinas Men.
Thailand won the 2025 SEA V.League championship by sweeping Cambodia, 25-19, 25-22, 25-16, effectively ousting the Philippines from title contention.

Even if Alas beats Indonesia on Sunday night and share an identical 3-1 record with Thailand, the nationals can no longer surpass the Thais’ nine match-point haul.
A three- or four-set win can only tow Alas to a maximum of eight match points.

As a result, Vietnam (2-2) seized the bronze medal and Cambodia (0-4) drops to fifth place.
At stake for the nationals is either the third silver medal in Philippine men’s volleyball history or a spot below the podium places in fourth.
And the path to a national sporting breakthrough is as clear as can be: win to cop silver and lose to drop to fourth.
