Chinese Taipei squad whips Malaysian side in Asian Womens Club Championship opener

Chinese Taipei is a win away from the quarterfinals. 

BIÑAN — Taichung Bank of Chinese Taipei clobbered Malaysia, 25-15, 25-22, 25-21, on Saturday in the opening match of the 2016 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship at Alonte Sports Arenaon.

Chui Ya-Hui scored with 16 points, including 13 kills, while Chen Yu-Chien added 12 markers for the Taiwan squad.

Taichung Bank tries to book a place in the quarterfinals when it takes on Ba'yi Shenzheng of China on Sunday.

Wang Yu-Han and Huang Chen-Yu combined for 15 points for the Taiwanese squad, which had a total of 45 attack points against 26 of Malaysia.

Team captain Stephanie Law Feng Nie made eight points for Malaysia in the match that lasted an hour and seven minutes.

The Malaysians face the Chinese team on Monday.
