PETRON ties to tighten its grip on the No. 1 spot, while Generika guns for a fifth consecutive win as they take on separate foes on Saturday in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.

The Blaze Spikers battles Mane 'N Tail at 2 p.m., while the Life Savers tangle with RC Cola-Air Force at 4 p.m.

In men's play, second seed Cignal takes on third seed Cavite at 6 p.m. in a knockout semifinal for the right to face two-time champion PLDT Air Force in the title match.

Petron beat Foton for a league beast 7-1 win-loss card, followed by Generika (5-3), RC Cola Air Force (5-4) and Cignal (4-5).

"Importante 'yung panalo namin (sa Foton) kasi sabi ko sa mga players ko kailangan natin lumayo (sa standing) para sa No.1," said Petron coach George Pascua.

Generika will bank on import Natalia Kurobkova and locals Aby Marano, Paneng Mercado and Cha Cruz as they try to stretch their streak.
