KRISTY Jaeckel scored 36 points as Mane 'N Tail handed weary Cignal its third straight loss, 25-14, 17-25, 28-26, 25-21, in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix on Saturday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Rossan Fajardo and Lilet Mabbayad scored 10 points each, while Hezzymie Acuna chipped in with nine, as Mane N Tail scored its third win in seven outings for joint fourth place with Cignal, which played two matches in two days and three consecutive playdates overall including Wednesday.
The HD Spikers lost in straight sets to Generika on Wednesday and dropped a tough five-setter to unbeaten Petron on Friday.
"Isa sa factor na nakita namin pwedeng mababa ang morale at saka pagod kaya we took advantage sa pagod nila," said Vicente.
American imports Sarah Ammerman and Lindsay Stalzer had 24 and 18 points, respectively, for the HD Lady Spikers, while Abi Praca added 11.
"Sabi ko sa kanila (locals) kailangan tulungan natin ang foreigners, kitang kita naman ang tulong na nagawa ng locals ngayon," said Vicente although he admitted the team still leans heavily on Jaeckel, the former University of Florida standout who leads the league is scoring.
“Si Jaeckel, siya pa rin ang puso ng team,” said Mane 'N Tail coach Francis Vicente.
“She really wants to win, grabe ang mga palo babasagin niya talaga ang mga blocks, walang patawad, kahit service walang patawad,” he added.
