CAVITE came out victorious over Maybank, 25-23, 19-25, 25-16, 25-22, in a battle of winless teams on Friday in the men's division of the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix.
Benjaylo Labide led the Patriots Fourbees with 16 points, while Antonio Torres added 13, Joven Camaganakan had 12 and Adam Aidam chipped in with 11.
Labide led a 7-4 run that gave Cavite a 20-15 advantage in the fourth set.
Maybank got to within 20-22 but Cavite scored five consecutive points to end the match.
The Cavite selection, which suffered a three-set loss to PLDT Air Force in its opening match, now holds an even record of 1-1 for third spot.
Jasper Adorador had 15 markers and Jack Loquiao added 10 for returnee Maybank, winless in two matches.
