REIGNING champion Petron made it 10 straight wins, beating PLDT Fibr, 25-18, 25-21, 25-14, on Tuesday in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Stephanie Niemer had 16 kills and delivered five of the team’s nine service aces for 21 points, while Katherine Bell had 19 points off 17 spikes and a pair of blocks as the Blaze Spikers ended the Power Hitters’ three-match win streak.

All-Filipino conference MVP Rhea Dimaculangan had 31 excellent sets as Petron finished off PLDT in one hour and 45 minutes.

“Happy and nakakaproud kasi ginagawa talaga nila yung best nila and good thing din na-experience namin na kailangan hindi pwedeng maging complacent talaga,” said Petron head coach Shaq de los Santos, wary of the match against F2 Logistics (7-2) on Saturday.

“Kailangan pa rin namin magimprove sa mga susunod na games. Siyempre second round na lahat ng team pinagaaralan kami. Ganun din naman kami sa kanila,” he said.

Kendra Dahlke was the lone double-digit scorer for the Power Hitters with 16 points, while Grace Lazard was limited to just eight markers.

PLDT, now at 6-5, face the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors (2-6) on Thursday.
