Sta. Lucia import Marisa Field eager to return to action after sustaining knee ligament tear

Marissa Field hopes to be cleared to play soon as Sta. Lucia looks to score wins in the remaining elims matches.

INJURED Canadian import Marisa Filed is hoping to return to action in the Philippine Super Liga soon as Sta. Lucia tries to get back in contention in the Super Liga Grand Prix.

Field sustained a right knee ligament tear during the match against Victoria Sports-UST last Tuesday and sat out the match against Foton on Saturday.

The Lady Realtors middle blocker said she has been advised to rest for two weeks, which means missing the matches against Cignal and Cocolife.

“Basically, there’s a small tear on the ligament and a little bit of a problem in the patella so they just want to rest that so that it heals without having any further problem with it,” she said on a video posted on the Lady Realtors’ official Twitter page.

“That is always the worst part, I think, especially when you can do anything it’s always hard to watch if your team is struggling,” she said.

“I mean if they’re winning it’s great to clap and cheer it’s not so bad then but its really so hard to watch when you know you can’t give anything on the court,” she added.
