SANTO Domingo, Ilocos Sur – Fancied RC Cola Air Force won a second straight game following a 25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 27-25, beating of Generika in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Pirx at the Santo Domingo Coliseum here on Saturday night.
American Emily Wise led all Raiders scorers with 22 points, while Joy Cases had 21 for the Raiders, who improved their record to 2-1 following an opening day loss to Cignal (17-25, 23-25, 23-25).
RC Cola coach Rhovyl Verayo, who took over the team just at the start of the month, admitted the Raiders have already recovered from their first loss.
The game almost went to a decider owing to the Raiders' reception and 31 errors compared to Generika's 27 team faults.
"Napakagaling sumervice ng Japanese na import talagang target na target," said Verayo, referring to Generika setter Miyu Shinohara, who had six of the Life Savers' seven service aces.
The second straight loss by Generika (0-2) negated the game-high 31 points of Natalia Korobkova
The Life Savers are tied at the bottom of the standings with Mane 'N Tail.
