IMUS, Cavite — RC Cola Army proved too much for Lynda Morales-less Cignal, 25-13, 25-15, 25-10, on Tuesday in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at Imus Sports Complex.
Jovelyn Gonzaga had 16 points as Army controlled the match from start to finish for its third win in eight matches.
"Hindi naman namin in-expect na ganon kabilis matatapos ang game, mas nagkakaroon lang kami ng konting advantage kasi wala si Lynda," said Lady Troopers coach Kungfu Reyes.
"Medyo nag-usap usap lang kasi 'yung pine-perform ng team hindi ganoon kaganda noong mga nakaraan kaya we try to analyze kung ano ang mali," he said.
"Sana magdire-diretso na kasi the way na nilaro namin ngayon ito 'yung laro namin, this is how we play, kasi nung mga nakaraan na parang hindi kami," he added.
RC Cola Army also got an added fire power from Royse Tubino, who had nine points, and American imports Hailie Ripley and Kierra Holst, who combined for 15 markers.
The Lady Troopers scored more attacks, 41-18, had four block points, and nine service aces against five by the HD Spikers.
"Nag-perform na kasi ang locals, kabilaan sa bawat dulo may umaatake, sa ilalim may depensa tapos sa ibabaw may blocking, kahit first ball namin nagclick at 'yung block namin maganda ang pattern," said Reyes.
American hitter Laura Rae Schaudt scored seven for Cignal, which suffered its fifth loss in six outings.
Morales sat out for the second straight match due to a sprained left ankle.
