F2 Logistics head coach Ramil de Jesus said the Petron Blaze Spikers really wanted to win more than they did, but at least his Cargo Movers gained a gauge on their 2018 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference campaign.

The Cargo Movers fought their way back from a 9-15 deficit and stole the first set but failed to stop the Blaze Spikers in the succeeding sets on the way to suffering their first loss, 25-22, 16-25, 16-25, 20-25, on Saturday at the Alonte Sports Center in Biñan City.

Despite losing their first game after a 3-0 start in the conference, De Jesus was gracious in their defeat and admitted that his wards were impatient playing with Petron, which dominated the net defense with a 12-4 blocking differential.

“Sobrang tiyaga talaga ng Petron and medyo mabagal 'yung ginalaw namin,” De Jesus said. “Naiinip din kami kapag di napapatay 'yung bola, hindi na nagtiya-tiyaga dumepensa. Na-dominate kami blocking kanina din. Deserving talaga manalo 'yung Petron kanina.”

But for the three-time PSL champion coach, it’s better to lose this early rather than the crucial part of the tournament as they have time to work on their lapses.

“Pero, mahaba pa 'to at umpisa pa lang 'yung liga. At least nakita namin 'yung mga mali,” he said.

De Jesus added that his wards also felt fatigue took its toll as the Cargo Movers played their third match in five days.

“Siguro nakita 'yung pagod namin din. Every other day 'yung game. Marami pang may maliliit na injury sa team, so kailangan lang maka-recover,” he said. “Mahirap ayusin kapag ganoon. Makikita mo naman sa galaw may idea, pero hindi ma-execute, hindi makapwesto sa bola.”

As it seeks to bounce back and improve its 3-1 win-loss record, F2 Logistics will play back-to-back games in three days facing the winless Generika-Ayala (0-3) on Tuesday and unbeaten Foton (3-0) on Thursday both at the Arena in San Juan City.

De Jesus wants his wards to hang on and persevere on their grueling schedule.

“Sabi ko sa kanila na importante lang tiyagain namin hanggang sa dulo. Pag dumating 'yung chance na pumasok ulet sa Finals, doon na lang mag-adjust nang todo,” he concluded.
