RC Cola Army ‘happy pill’ Rachel Anne Daquis can't contain his joy after rejoining the Lady Troopers after missing the team for two conferences in the Philippine Super Liga.
The former FEU star was part of Army’s three-year reign since the league’s inauguration in 2013. But after Army's temporary departure from the PSL starting in the Grand Prix of 2014 up to last year’s import-laden conference, Daquis joined Petron in the 2015 All Filipino tournament where she won the MVP award, and a championship in the Grand Prix conference.
Now she's 'home' again.'
Ngayon nine years na ako sa Army,” said the volleyball darling after the Lady Troopers clobbered Foton, 25-17, 25-9, 25-22, on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
Army mainstay Jovelyn Gonzaga said in a separate interview that the team remained solid despite sitting out the PSL season and only got better with Daquis back in the fold.
Lady Troopers mentor Kungfu Reyes agreed, describing Daquis as the team's “big happy pill.”
