SEMIFINALIST Foton pocketed its fourth consecutive win as it dumped also-ran RC Cola-Air Force, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19, in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at The Arena in San Juan on Thursday.
Rookie Jaja Santiago led the way with 15 points, while American imports Lindsay Stalzer and Katie Messing each had 12 and nine markers apiece for the Tornadoes, who are now tied with Cignal for third spot with 6-3 cards.
“Full force pa rin kami, hindi kami nag-relax (kahit laglag na sila),” said Foton coach Vilet Ponce de Leon after the match that took just an hour and 23 minutes to finish.
Philips Gold, which defeated Cignal late in the afternoon, currently holds the top spot with a 7-2, while defending champion Petron is running second with a 6-2 slate.
Under the league format, the top seed will face the fourth while the second and third will clash in a one-game semifinal affair that will determine the finalists.
RC Cola-Air Force imports Sara McClinton and Lynda Morales finished with 16 and 13 points, respectively. The Raiders absorbed their eighth consecutive loss in the conference after winning their first match against Meralco.
