THE Super Liga is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the successful staging of international tournaments in the country this year, as local officials hope to convince foreign counterparts that the Philippines is now among the top destinations and hotbed of volleyball talent.

PSL officials noted that while the country has been awarded the hosting rights for several international tournaments, they still need to work hard to ensure the events adhere to international standards.

“A healthy relationship with both the FIVB and the AVC will enable us to send more teams and host more high-level international tournaments that would be beneficial to the improvement and development of the sport here,” said PSL president Ramon Suzara.

“We are looking forward to another explosive year, not just here, but also abroad,” he added.

PSL will host the Asian Volleyball Confederation Asian Women's Club Championship from September 3 to 11 and the FIVB World Women's Club Championship in October.

Super Liga will also send a team to an invitational event hosted by the Thailand Super League from March 23 to 29 and to a West Coast Road Tour in the US from September 16 to 25.

Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. last year tapped the PSL to form a team to compete in the AVC Asian Women's Seniors Championship in China, the AVC Asian Men's Club Championship in Taipei and the AVC Asian Women's Club Championship in Phu Ly, Vietnam.
