MIKA Reyes is having a heck of a year. She won another UAAP championship with La Salle, graduated recently in college, and now she's just been named Philippine Super Liga (PSL) ambassador.
The 22-year-old F2 Logistics star replaced teammate Cha Cruz as ambassador, but was at first hesistant to take on the role before eventually accepting the honor of becoming the new face of the club league.
“Of course, I’m so happy and very excited,” said the pride of Pulilan, Bulacan.
“Nagulat din na ako ‘yung pinili nila but I think I will be able to represent the league in my own little ways,” added the three-time UAAP champion. “I may not be the greatest player today, but I hope I will be able to inspire people with the sport that I love and its advocacies.”
Reyes, who will represent the PSL on its events in and out of the country, joined an elite club of former PSL ambassadors such as Cruz, Richard Gomez, and Gretchen Ho.
The 5-foot-10 Reyes will also lead the way in promoting the various activities of the league such as beach volley tourney, out of town games, foreign competition, outreach programs, and volleyball clinics and seminars.
“She has what it takes to become the face of the league,” said PSL president Tats Suzara.
“She is charming, smart and a very good player. Her beauty and power is what the PSL has been advocating.”
